The Center for Children and Families, located in northeastern Louisiana, is leading the pilot for the Whole Health Louisiana Regional Trauma-Informed Program. This program will provide training and technical assistance to support organizations in Region 8 seeking to build capacity and integrate trauma-informed approaches into their policies and programs.
The Center for Children and Families, Inc. is a private non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that was established in 1999 to promote safe, healthy environments for children and families through advocacy, counseling, education, and prevention. With a presence in 46 parishes across the North and Central Southwest regions of Louisiana and four counties in Mississippi, the organization has a distinguished history of implementing nationally recognized, evidence-based practices and programs for children who have experienced significant trauma.
To advance Whole Health Louisiana’s mission, the Center for Children and Families intends to transform organizational culture and service delivery across sectors through the Regional Trauma-Informed Program. By equipping organizations with the tools, knowledge, and strategies to recognize and respond to trauma, this program aims to enhance workplace readiness and improve outcomes for both service providers and the communities they serve. As a result, organizations participating in the pilot will not only improve internal policies and practices but also contribute to a broader regional movement toward systemic healing and wellbeing.
Whole Health Louisiana hopes to eventually expand the work of this pilot program to integrate trauma-informed approaches in organizations across Louisiana.
